The Living Christmas Story - Balboa Park
The Christmas Story Tree has been a tradition at the Organ Pavilion for over 35 years that tells the Biblical story of Christmas through song and 'still' dramatic scenes. It is definitely the highlight of the annual event known as December Nights that draws over 300,000 people to the park each year. A choir, that is made up of many local churches and community members, and an orchestra tell the story through familiar Christmas hymns and carols along with a narrator.
In the coming months, we’re gearing up to do a lot of work and could use your help. We need new participants to keep the Christmas Story Tree going. From singing in the choir to working backstage or constructing the Tree itself, there are plenty of ways to get involved.
The director has has asked the homeschool community to participate in helping make this the best performance yet! He is interested in starting a youth portion to the program in an effort to infuse new energy and vitality to the program. Anyone 12 years of age and older are invited to join us for rehearsals!
