Cecilia Chafin
Cecilia Chafin is glad to help the Christian homeschool community by serving on the CFS San Diego county board. She and her husband homeschooled their children from birth through high school. During those seventeen years, she served in various capacities on the board of CFS Poway, serving as President for the last 7 of those years. Cec (as she is known to her friends) also started the co-op classes in Poway which are still operational today. Along with Sylvia Pierce and Honey Burke, Cec still serves CFS Poway in an advisory capacity. She is excited to share her time and talent to strengthen the Christian homeschool community in San Diego county.

Honey Burke
Honey and her husband, Brad, home schooled their three children from kindergarten through high school graduation. Although her "hands-on" homeschooling journey is complete, she is willing to continue serving the homeschool community. Before homeschooling, Honey was an elementary school teacher, first in a private, Christian school then in the public schools before becoming a mom and beginning the home school journey. She believes that every child of every Christian deserves a Christian education, so she is happy to serve on the board of CFS, an organization that blessed their family's education experience immensely.

Don & Sudie Weisman
Don and Sudie Weisman are returning board members for CFS SD County. They served on the board from 1997 to 2005 helping run the CFS Curriculum Fair throughout the years working either directly with the vendors or volunteers as well as running a few of the Countywide Spelling Bees, Retreats & CFS Showcases. They are also co-founders of C.O.N.T.R.O.L., a San Diego based homeschool forensic club and sister club to Paradigm of Heritage. Both consider it a privilege to serve the San Diego community of home educators. Don and Sudie believe that home education is a calling and an exciting journey of faith, as their own 3 children have all graduated from UC colleges and have grown into productive God fearing citizens.

Sylvia Pierce
Sylvia and her husband, Mike, began homeschooling their four children in 1999. All but one have graduated, so the Pierces are nearing the end of their homeschooling journey. Sylvia became involved in leadership at CFS Poway in the fall of 2000 when she volunteered as newsletter editor. She then took on various positions over the years before serving as president from 2008 to 2015. She continues to have a heart for homeschooling families, wanting to encourage them to keep up their good work. As Galatians 6:9 says, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
