Living History Experience
Join us for an 18 hour immersive, hands-on exploration of Pre-Revolutionary War history! We will be transported back to 1774 Boston, as the political tensions in Colonial America grow into the rallying cry for independence. Run by trained docents dressed in period dress, this adventure begins at 3:00 PM and concludes at 9:00 AM the following morning. Students are encouraged to place themselves in character along with the docents to explore what life was like during this time period. Dinner and breakfast similar to what would have been served are included.
DATE: Thursday 3:00 PM through Friday, 9:00 AM, February 4th - 5th, 2027
COST: Students: $100
Adults: $100
NOTE: Adults are asked to defer to the students in the role playing process and stay in character at all times. Also, there is prep work required of all participants prior to boarding in order to fully participate in the immersive experience. This is an experience that is geared to 4th and 5th graders, but many older students will enjoy this field trip if they are willing to immerse themselves in the experience. Mature 3rd graders may be allowed.
For staffing purposes, the San Diego Maritime Museum asks for an accurate count of participants no later than 60 days in advance. If you plan to join us, please be mindful of the deadline the first week of December!
