Welcome to Poway!!
Who We Are:
We are Christian, Bible-believing parents who regard our
children as gifts from God. We have chosen home education as a means of
fulfilling our responsibility to train our children in the ways of the Lord.
The CFS-Poway Board is comprised of privately home schooling
parents who volunteer their time to provide leadership to the organization. The
board meets monthly to discuss activities, classes and services as well as the
group's policies and issues. The board meeting may be attended by parent
members with prior notification of topic and as time allows.
Membership Benefits:
CFS Poway's emphasis is to enhance individual families'
abilities to meet their educational goals by providing additional opportunities
for students to develop academically, socially, physically and spiritually. CFS
Poway members receive a monthly newsletter from September through May
which includes information on upcoming events and topics of interest to home
schoolers.
Our activities aim to provide services that students'
families would share in a brick & mortar school, such as a year-end
promotion ceremony, school pictures, yearbook, Spelling Bee, Presidential
Fitness program, science labs, fieldtrips and resource library.
Critical to the success of CFS Poway is the participation of
parent-volunteers encouraging one another through a network of friends and
contacts.
Membership Responsibilities:
Complete annual membership application and return with
payment to Membership Coordinator. CFS Poway is funded soley through the annual
membership fee.
Sign & abide by Event/Class Behavior Guidelines,
including pre-registration and payment requirements. Notify field
trip/class coordinator of cancellations prior to the event.
************************
How To Participate:
Sign-up for the group's activities on the first Friday of
each month, from September through May at 12:30. Our meeting location is
Silverset Park in Poway. Individual events, activities and classes require
additional fees.
Supervise your children while participating at CFS
functions. At every event parents are responsible for their children’s
actions and well-being. It is expected that any member or their child who
damages or causes injury, either willfully or through neglect, will take
personal responsibility for their actions.
