Welcome!
We are a group of home school families who hope to support and encourage those who desire to privately home educate their children. We meet the second Friday of the month (September - June, excluding December) at Kit Carson Park from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. There is plenty of room for the kids to run around and play, but sometimes it’s fun to bring a jump rope, balls, or bubbles. Be aware that the water at the park is contaminated, so please warn your children not to play near the water. Don’t forget to bring your checkbook and calendar. Payment is always due when signing up for activities.
Our Purpose
As traditional Christian families, we have gathered together to support and encourage, from a Biblical standpoint, Christian private home educating households. We operate under the direction of our leadership team and are affiliated with both Christian Family Schools of San Diego and the Christian Home Educators Association of California and have adopted their policies. We comply with their Statement of Faith, Educational Philosophy, Leadership Policy, Mission Statement and Support Network Guidelines. As an affiliated support group we will act in accordance with their recommendations as stated in their Support Group Guidelines. In as much as we are a Christian private home education group we do specifically hold to the Christian Family Schools Leadership Policy for our leadership team which states, “Leaders may not have their children registered with any public institution as the primary means of satisfying compulsory education requirements.” It is our desire to encourage parents as they develop their home school schedules to focus on spending time together as a family and set this principle as a priority for everything they do.

Directions: Take I-15 to the Via Rancho Parkway exit. Go east 1.2 miles until you come to Mary Lane (stop light). Turn left on Mary Lane into Kit Carson Park, and veer to your left. Continue past the tennis courts. We are on the right, under the large covered area. (This is at the south end of the park, behind North County Fair Mall.)
How Do We Join?
Your membership allows you to participate in field trips, special events, and activities our group sponsors and to receive a monthly newsletter. Membership cost is $30.00 per year and includes membership to CFS San Diego County. Our membership packet can be downloaded, printed out, and then mailed in. Once you have registered you will receive your newsletter on the Wednesday before Park Day, via e-mail, so that you may peruse it and be prepared to sign up for any events on Friday.
