Kids Workshops are free "How-To-Clinics" designed for children ages 5-12.  The workshops are offered on the first Saturday of each month between 9:00 AM and noon at all Home Depot stores.  Children accompanied by an adult construct projects from pre-fabricated kits.  Check their website for your local store listing and call to confirm the workshop is happening.

Quail Botanical Gardens

Free admission on the first Tuesday of every month.  Quail Botanical Gardens is located on over 35 acres in Encinitas and has one of the world's most diverse collections.  Hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  Visit their website for more information.

Institute for Creation Research (ICR) Museum

The ICR museum is free and open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  (The museum is closed most major holidays.)  ICR equips believers with evidences of the Bible's accuracy and authority through scientific research, educational programs, and media presentations - all conducted within a thoroughly Biblical framework.  Do religion and science clash?  What is the evidence for the Genesis Flood?  When did the Ice Age occur?  How old is the earth?  What about the origins of mankind, nations, and languages?  These and many more questions are answered from a Biblical perspective as you walk through Creation one room at a time.  Visit their website for more information.
